Meet Cindi Mandarano

You may recognize her as a StitchCraft Staffer--and she is! We noticed some of our best customers are our staff and why not take a moment to get to know them better? You can also follow her on IG @piece2peacequilting

What is your craft of choiceMy craft is Longarm Quilting.

How long have you been doing thisYears ago I tried to quilt on my domestic machine and found it very difficult and frustrating. I was in the market for a new job and I love sewing so I went to HandiQuilter in Utah.

What inspired you to startI spent a week learning the longarm and fell in love. I came home and purchased a HQ Infinity and started my business Piece 2 Peace Quilting. Since then, I have been back to Utah, and many other classes, to improve my craft. I am so grateful to all of my customers who trust me with their gorgeous quilting projects.

Do you work with your own designs or enjoy patternsMostly, I use my own designs or my variation of pattern but I enjoy using patterns for large projects.

What is your favorite notionThat's easy! Olfa Splash Rotary Cutter. I have tried many different styles of cutters and this is in my opinion the best. Ease of use and safe easy blade replacement are the two features that really stand out.

What is your favorite brand of fabricThat's a tough one. I like the hand of Free Spirit and Moda and Robert Kaufman make some beautiful quality fabrics. Sorry I can't choose just one.

Do you enjoy music, audiobooks, or movies in the background while you craftI usually have HGTV or National Geographic on in the background while I work.

Finish this sentence#I'm so Stitchcraft because it is a FUN place to work with AWESOME coworkers and customers and so much "eye candy" to look at and enjoy all day! It's like working in an adult candy store!

Do you quilt your quilts yourself? Tell us in the comments below!

  • Cindy has brought several of my quilts to life with her skills on her Longarm . She always knows just the right stitch pattern to use on every quilt that I give her. She gives me a time frame when she will be finished and her time frame has been right on the mark every time. I am blessed to know her.
