Week 1: Select and cut fabric
Cutting fabric is definitely going to be easier than selecting it (so many delightful choices!). Each block is three triangles, two rectangles, and one square. All six go together fast.
So fast some people have already started (see below). Since we’re all working at our own pace, no need to feel any pressure. This is meant to be fun and a great way to connect with other interested tree makers. Use and follow the hashtag #HolidaysinJulyQAL to see all the wonderful work on social media!
Need the block pattern?
The block pattern is here: it's a free downloadable template from Cluck Cluck Sew!

This week we are also choosing our fabrics! It’s a great opportunity to use your stashed away solids, novelties, batiks, or Kaffe Fassett fabrics (like in our original samples). If you are looking for a pre-made bundle, see our selections below. There are so many great collections in stock!
For our QAL, and its coordinating schedule above, we are aiming for at least a small throw size quilt top. Plan for 2.5 yards of background fabric and one fat quarter will yield at least six trees.

Prize pack winner
When we announced the QAL a few weeks ago, we also announced a giveaway for those of who share'd the “I'm In!" image. The winner of the prize pack of one StitchCraft 10th anniversary tote and 200 StitchCraft Points is Lyra T! Congratulations! Please send us an email and we will connect for your prize pack.
